Ill say this again cos seems some ppl didnt get it from first post.
I pressed accept ONLY once. and i SAW ECTOS in my inventory like 1-2 seconds before i got kicked from guild hall.

On topic, can anyone from anet acknowledge that there is a problem in this regards with the trade window just to let us know that the are working on it. People atm are too scared to sell their braces so they wont get scammed or be accused of scamming others.

didnt they say they cannot tell you if they take action on the account or not. 2 i know the name of the person who scammed u sickk his name was poseted on a screen shot before it was removed from this post as far as i am aware his account has been on and active last seen today around 3-6 so i dont know if im trustin what anets saying.

Ouch, I'd hate to see the swap trade BS that used to plague D2 long ago become a serious threat in GW.

Whatever the problem is I hope they fix it soon because I don't see him keeping his mouth shut on how he did it now that hes been banned.

I used to think that too, but A.net changed there policy sometime in the last 8 months. They will now tell you if a ban occured.

I would tend to agree that it is a corruption of data like Foxbat and Lady Syve suggested. Because the amount of wood that ended up being traded was the same number as the armbraces/ectos that was supposed to be it seems more likely to me that the game is compensating with an "item 0" type response to corrupted data. If the scammers were using a macro and were scamming you anyway why would they give you 50 wood when they could just give you 1? I don't think it would be worth setting a macro to match the amount of every individual trade when you could set it once at 1 and be done with it.

Edit: Come to think of it, why would he offer anything at all? Wouldn't it be entirely possible that during the time we're assuming the switch would occur he/she could simply remove their offer entirely and resubmit it as nothing? It is not required that both parties offer something, just that they both accept at some point.

Not sure if this is correct as I was hacked a month or so ago and I was told by support that they couldn't tell me any results of their investigations or if any action would be taken as a result.

Just some idle speculation...

This hack is probably nothing more than sending an 'accept' package and a 'revoke guest' package in quick succession. If the revocation starts resolving before the trade finishes resolving, all kinds of oddness might occur because data required by the trade becomes unavailable while the trade is resolved. This oddness seems to work to the advantage of the one not leaving the instance (guild hall).

managed to recreate this, maybe people are just seeing items that have other skins?

only thing that makes me wonder is that on the tradewindow u can still see "Glob of Ectoplasm"

wouldnt it mean that if they put woodplanks in the tradewindow, it would show the ecto img but announce the offer is wood?

hope u understand.... just wonderin...... cuz iron img, glob text....

well, I'm not completely getting what you're saying but the bug I managed to recreate is giving items another skin, as in, I make a frozen ecto look like an ecto, I can make a wood plank look like an ecto & vice versa, so maybe people weren't paying much attention & this was the bug or this is a new bug that also has to do with guild halls

My guess is, when you cancel the guest status the trade window glitches and u can change what's in it without the window showing that.

weird. It must have been fixed or there is a third party program involved. Because I tried to duplicate it with the info I have. No matter how hard I tried as soon as I revoked GH priv. from my second account. The trade was canceled and second account got the boot out of GH.
